Special Offerings

• America for Christ Offering
  Received on the first Sunday in March and then continues on throughout the month, this offering supports American Baptist home mission work beyond the local congregation. In 2007 Fifth Avenue Baptist Church gave a total of $5,537 towards our goal of $4,500. In 2006 $6,011.77 was given. In the previous five years, Fifth Avenue gave as follows to the AFC Offering: in 2005 - $3,744; in 2004 - $4,485; in 2003 - $4,650; in 2002 - $4,367; and in 2001 - $4,091.
• One Great Hour of Sharing
  Received on the first Sunday in June and then continued on throughout the month, this offering supports American Baptist that is used for disaster relief around the world at any given time. Fifth Avenue Baptist Church gave $6,065 for the year of 2007 and surpassed their $5,000 goal. In 2006 FAB gave $7,849 towards relief aid. In 2005 FAB gave $29,717.69 to this offering due to the devastating Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. In the previous four years, FAB gave as follows to the OGHS Offering: in 2004 - $5,714;in 2003 - $4,127; in 2002 - $4,655; and in 2001 - $4,744.
• World Mission Offering
  Received on the first Sunday in October and then continued on throughout the month, this offering supports American Baptist International Missions in partnership with International Ministries. Fifth Avenue Baptist Church gave %7,441 in 2007. This needed offering will help keep missionaries in the field instead of raising their own support. In 2006 Fifth Avenue Baptist Church gave $7,880.20 and surpassed it's goal of $4,500. In 2005 FAB collected $3,421. We attribute the decrease in this offering to the continued support and collection of the One Great Hour of Sharing Offering. In the previous four years, FAB gave as follows; 2004 - $5,761; in 2003 - $4,622; in 2002 - $4,188; and in 2001, -$3,823.
• Retired Ministers & Missionaries Offering
  Received on the first Sunday in December and then continued through the month, this offering is a thank you offering and an emergency response to needs of retired American Baptist pastors and missionaries. As of the end of December Fifth Avenue Baptist Church had given $2,458 for this "bonus" offering. In 2006 this church gave $3,617.00 for this offering. In 2005 FAB gave $3,596.00 towards it's $2,500 goal. In the previous four years, FAB gave as follows: in 2004 - 4,132.15; in 2003 - $2,533; in 2002 - $2,479; and in 2001 - $2,450 to this offering.
